Joint Holiness Convention & Seminar Series

                                                                                                                                  

Once again the Church of God Reformation Movement, The Church of the Nazarene, The Wesleyan Holiness Church and the Christian Union Church will be hosting a Joint Holiness Convention and Seminar Series. The series of events will be held under the theme "Christians Untied but United...Connecting Family, Church and Nation to Christ" begins on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium with a celebration service.  Rev. Dr. Carlisle Williams is the scheduled speaker for the opening service. The services will continue nightly on October 11, 12, 13 and 15, 2010 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre and will take the following forms:

The objective of this year's holiness convention and seminar series is, “To give heed to the clarion call issued in this season for families to stem the flow of decadency and empower significant others to the maximum exercise of their gifts and abilities within the range of responsibilities given by God.”

Missions Weekend Concert

This year's Missions Convention is a two-day affair beginning on Saturday, August 28th with a benefit concert entitled "Live Out the Love." In keeping with this year's theme of "Live Out the Love of Christ" the concert will assist the West Indies Theological College (W.I.T.C.) based in La Pastora, Trinidad & Tobago.  The concert will feature The Mezclada Project: made of singers and musicians from across the Church of God in Barbados who are now in the process of completing its first recording project. Other performing artistes include Granville Maynard, Romaro Greaves, Tavia Drakes and the worship band of the Gardens Church of God. Tickets cost $10 and the event begins at 5:59pm.WITC has been training Church of God leaders for over 50 years.

Haiti Earthquake: Report from Church of God Ministries (CGM) USA

The Disaster Relief committee of Church of God Ministries (CGM) received an initial report from Phil Murphy about the scope of damages and devastation in Haiti on January 12, 2010. Murphy, who traveled to Haiti to deliver the first $10,000 in disaster relief funds from CGM also conducted an assessment of the earthquakes’ affect on Church of God congregations and other ministry works on the island nation. International relief organizations estimate the death toll at over 150,000 with upwards of half a million people displaced and without shelter. In answering the call for assistance, CGM has received more than $53,000 in disaster relief donations from individuals and congregations. Dear Pastors, Executive Council Members, Ministry Leaders, Colleagues, Friends! This year's convention themed "Live Out the Love of Christ" begins on February 21 to 24, followed by two days of Conferences for leaders and women respectively (Feb. 25 & 26).
Our featured speaker this year is Rev. Lenworth Anglin - Executive Chairman of the Church of God in Jamaica. Along side him for the Conferences will be his wife Hyacinth Lenore Anglin. Here is our Event schedule:

The lead-up to our Convention & Conferences is "The Throneroom Experience": a prayer & worship event on February 14th, at the Church of God Chapman Street, starting at 6:00pm.
